Introduction to Clay Sculpture

This workshop will explore basic techniques in assembling clay sculptures. This includes discussions and demonstrations on suitable types of sculpture clay, tools used, techniques in clay assembly, clay fusion, thickness, drying procedures and preparation for firing. This is a hands-on workshop and students should expect to complete one clay sculpture.
Kevin Quinlan AOCA
Kevin Quinlan is a Saskatchewan based fine artist living in Saskatoon. Originally from Saskatchewan Kevin studied visual art in Toronto and Florence, Italy. He is a graduate of the Fine Art Department of The Ontario College of Art five year program specializing in old master’s techniques in drawing, painting and sculpture.
Since 1981 Kevin has taught art workshops and on going art classes in over 100 different Saskatchewan communities. His students including both children and adult artists number in the thousands. Kevin continues to produce portraits, landscapes, drawings, symbolist paintings, large and small scale sculptures in many mediums.
